The Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, has signed the law for the establishment of the Baro Area Development Commission into law.

The law is to establish Baro Area Development Commission and for other matters connected therewith.

A statement made available by the state government notes that, according to the stipulation, the commission shall have a member of the Governing Board to include the Chairman, Managing, Director and Executive Directors.

"The commission, a corporate body with perpetual succession and a common seal, may sue and be sued in its corporate name."

Similarly, Governor Sani Bello also assented to the Grazing Reserves Law No. 4 of 1965.

The law is to stop the increasing cases of encroachment and other illegal and unauthorized activities in and around the reserves by persons who do not have the requisite permit to carry out such activities in the reserves.
