Governor Adeleke Commissions 80-Bed Hospital In Ipetumodu

The Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has commissioned a multipurpose hospital with 80 bed spaces in Ipetumodu, Ife North local government area of the state.

Represented by his Deputy, Kola Adewusi, the Governor disclosed that the project was supported by the Federal Government through the Sustainable Development Goals Office (SDGs).

While lauding the Federal Government for the good gesture, Governor Adeleke described the project as a great contribution to the provision of health care services to the people of the state.

He maintained that it is also in tandem with the priority of his administration to bring quality and affordable healthcare services to the doorsteps of the people of the state.

Governor Adeleke specifically thanked the outgoing President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari for his love for Osun State and for making the project a reality adding that as a government, his administration has invested a lot in the health sector as he just rounded off a medical surgery mission across the nine federal constituencies of the state in commemoration of his one hundred days in office, during which 22 thousand patients with varying degree of illnesses benefited.

Talking on the welfare of health workers in the state, the Governor said his administration prioritises their welfare as the approval of hazards together with other allowances was recently effected for resident doctors of UniOsun Teaching Hospital, a development he affirmed has been yielding positive results.

He noted that it is evident that Osun was not affected by the recent national warning strike called by the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) in the country.

Earlier in his goodwill message, the facilitator of the project, who is also the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina thanked everyone who had in one way or another contributed to the success of the project, especially the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals, Adejoke Orelope Adefulire for counting Ipetumodu worthy of being included among the beneficiaries.

He however, enjoined the state government under the leadership of Ademola Adeleke to continue his good gestures towards the betterment of all and sundry in the state and at the same time to effect and maintain the smooth functioning of the project.

The event was graced by some dignitaries amongst whom were royal fathers hosted by His Royal Majesty, Oba (Prof.) Joseph Olugbenga Oloyede, the Apetumodu of Ipetumodu.
