The Governor of Jigawa State, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has announced the dissolution of his cabinet, effective immediately.
This decision comes as the governor prepares to hand over to the state's Governor-elect, Umar Namadi, on May 29.
The Governor's decision was conveyed in a statement on Friday by Auwal D. Sankara, the state's Commissioner for Special Duties.
According to Sankara, the governor expressed his satisfaction with the accomplishments of his administration and emphasized the need for a seamless transition.
"We have achieved significant milestones during our tenure, and I am proud of the hard work and dedication displayed by my cabinet members."
"As we prepare for the handover, I have taken the decision to dissolve the cabinet to allow the incoming administration to commence their work promptly," he said.
The state's governor-elect, Namadi, expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him and assured the people of Jigawa State of his commitment to continuing the progress initiated by the outgoing administration.
"I am honored to have been elected as the next Governor of Jigawa State.
"I will build upon the foundation laid by Governor Badaru Abubakar and work tirelessly to fulfill the aspirations of our people," he declared.
