Governor Badaru Meets President-Elect Tinubu

Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State has met with Nigeria's President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to discuss challenges of the Northern Nigeria.

The discussion between them revolved around the development of the North and ways to overcome the security challenges that have ravaged communities and their livelihoods.

During the meeting, Badaru highlighted the need for more development in the northern part of the country.

While stressing the need for improved security in the region, the governor expressed concern over the rising insecurity and the devastating impact it has had on the lives and livelihoods of people in the country.

This was disclosed in a statement on Sunday by Auwal D. Sankara, Jigawa state's Commissioner for Special Duties.

According to the Commissioner, the President-elect commended governor Badaru for his commitment to the development of his state and the North.

He also acknowledged the security challenges facing the country and promised to take urgent steps to address them.

"It is expected that more meetings and discussions will be held in the coming weeks and months as the President-elect prepares to take office."
