Governor Fubara congratulates Sanusi on reinstatement as Emi

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has congratulated His Royal Highness, Muhammad Sanusi II on his reinstatement as the 14th Emir of Kano.

This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by Nelson Chukwudi, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.

According to the statement, Governor Fubara expressed his delight upon hearing the news of the reinstatement of Khalifa Sanusi II.

Fubara stated that the announcement coincided with Sanusi’s visit to Rivers State, where he was supporting the administration's efforts to reshape the state's economic trajectory.

He observed that the Kano State Government’s decision to reinstate Sanusi reflects that his dethronement on March 9, 2020, "was against the wishes and aspirations of the people of Kano State.”

The Rivers Governor described the dethronement as "an unjust act to the millions of people who believed in his reign while on the revered throne."

He commended the Kano State Government for heeding the yearnings of the people and taking steps to correct past wrongs.

He urged the residents to provide the Sarki of the ancient city of Kano with maximum support to ensure his success.

Furthermore, the Governor called on Emir Muhammad Sanusi II, the spiritual leader of the Tijanniyah Sufi order of Nigeria, to guide the over 50 million adherents of the order in Nigeria with love, wisdom, and courage, and to bring lasting peace, justice, equity, and fairness to all in the city of Kano.

"I wish the 14th Emir of Kano a successful and fruitful reign that will bring progress and prosperity to the people of the State," Fubara concluded.
