Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State has travelled to the United States of America where he will be participating in a week-long programme.
According to the State’s commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba in a statement issued on Tuesday, the Governor will be attending an 'Authentic Leadership Development Programme' at the Harvard Business School.
He said the governor has transited power and given full mandate to the Deputy Governor, Dr. Nasir Yusuf Gawuna to serve as the acting governor of the state.
The statement added that all official transactions henceforth should be channeled through the office of the Deputy Governor for necessary action.
The Governor's travel is coming at a time when foreign countries are restricting international travel, especially from South African Countries to curtail the spread of the new omicron variant of cornavirus.
Just recently, Nigeria was added to Canada and UK's red lists after it was reported that some people who travelled into both countries had travel links with Nigeria.
