The Governor of Taraba State, Darius Ishaku, has attended the thanksgiving service organised by the state's chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
The event took place at the association's secretariat in Jalingo, the state's capital.
Speaking at the event, the governor appealed to the people of Taraba to forgive his shortcomings during his eight-year tenure.
The governor had during a special Easter service apologised to the people of the state.
However, the governor urged the people to let the spirit of love, peace and forgiveness guide them.
The governor who had knelt before the congregation sought forgiveness from those he might have hurt while serving them as governor for two terms.
Ishiyaku who stressed the need for forgiveness said, “Biblically, we are taught to forgive those who offend us.
"In this case, I am asking those I have offended to forgive me."
He further appealed to people to support his successor, Lt. Col. Kefas Agbu (Rtd), to enable him to succeed in his tenure.
This is the second time Ishaku is seeking forgiveness from the people of the state as his tenure comes to an end.
