 Governor Ortom Task Christians On Financial Discipline

The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has charged members of 'The Brethren' to be disciplined financially and also imbibe the culture of saving and investment. 

The Brethren is a coalition of Christians who gave their lives to Jesus Christ during the revival years in Gboko in the late 1970s. 

Governor Ortom gave the charge on Saturday,during an Economic Summit organised by 'The Brethren' with the theme: "Creating a Business Culture," held at Sora International Schools, Gboko. 

He stated that globally, the private sector drives the economy while government provides policy and regulations, describing the programme as timely for the benefit of its members. 

The Governor however enjoined those God has blessed to in turn be a source of blessing to others, pointing out that planning is key for one to achieve success in life. 

While acknowledging the support and prayers of members of The Brethren to his administration, Governor Ortom appealed to the leadership of the group to register more members to expand its membership. 

The Governor acknowledged the development strides of the proprietor of Sora International, Dr. Moses Adi and encouraged him to sustain the tempo. 

Highlight of the summit was the decoration of Governor Ortom and his wife, Eunice Ortom in Tiv traditional attire and members of the Brethren appointed into various positions in the Governor's administration. 

Some members of The Brethren decorated with their wives included Engineer Victor Ukaha, Commissioner for Rural Development, Dr. Joseph Antyo, Principal Special Assistant to the Governor on Government House administration and Apostle Isaac Igbe, Executive Secretary, Benue State Scholarship Board. 

Others are Nathaniel Ikyur, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Reverend Peters Ichull, Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora Affairs, Elder Sam Dam Ayali, SSA on Community Relations, Honourable Terkaa Igba, Senior Special Assistant on Community Relations as well as Honourable James Bulaun, Senior Special Assistant on Transportation.
