Governor Sani approves Ahmed as KADRA boss

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani has approved the appointment of (Dr) Abdullahi Baba Ahmed as the Managing Director of the Kaduna State Roads Agency (KADRA).

Muhammad Lawal Shehu, the Governor's Chief Press Secretary conveyed the approval in a statement on Saturday.

According to Shehu, the new KADRA boss holds a First Class Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University in Bauchi State.

The new appointee also has an M.Sc in Civil Engineering and a Ph.D in Engineering Management from the University of Johannesburg, South Africa.

Until his recent appointment, Ahmed was a Special Adviser to Governor Sani on Project Monitoring, Implementation and Results Delivery (SAD - PMIRD).

He had equally worked as a Procurement Officer at the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), from July 2011 to July 2023.

According to the governor's spokesperson, Governor Sani also approved the appointment of an aide, replacing Ahmed's position and head of another agency.

The appointees include Professor Mahmud Sodangi as Special Adviser, Project Monitoring, Implementation and Results Delivery (PMIRD) and Anna Kazzah as General Manager, Finance and Administration, Kaduna Market Development Management Company (KMDMC).

The governor's approval was aimed at enhancing service delivery and reenergize government machinery to deliver on its mandate. 

According to the statement by the governor's spokesperson, all the appointments take immediate effect. 

The statement partly reads: "Anna Kazzah, the General Manager, Finance and Administration, Kaduna Market Development and Management Company (KMDMC) is an Associate Chartered Accountant and Financial Analyst. 

"She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics (Second Class Upper Division) from the Kaduna State University, Kaduna. Prior to her appointment as General Manager, Finance and Administration, KMDMC, she was an Audit Supervisor with Sulaimon & Co. Chartered Accountants. 

"Prof. Mahmud Sodangi, the Special Adviser, Project Monitoring, Implementation & Result Delivery (PMIRD) is a distinguished Quantity Surveyor and Engineer. 

"He holds a Professional Fellowship from the University of Turku, Finland, a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, an M.Sc in Construction Contract Management and a Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

"Prof. Sodangi brings to his new position, decades of experience as a researcher, project manager and Engineer in reputable organizations across the world. Prior to his latest appointment he worked as a Professor at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, Dammam, Saudi Arabia."
