Kaduna Governor, Uba Sani
The Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, has congratulated the State Cycling Team on winning a gold medal at the ongoing 7th National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State.
The Governor described the first-ever gold medal win in the state as a historic one.
This was contained in a statement by Muhammad Lawal Shehu, the governor's spokesperson on Tuesday.
According to Shehu, Governor Sani commends the team’s performance during the 80KM road race, describing it as exceptional.
He said the gold medal win was "a significant achievement that has brought pride to not only the team but the entire Kaduna State.”
The team equally won a bronze medal, during the 10-kilometer Individual Time Trial (ITT) at the 7th National Youth Games.
"These accomplishments at the games are a reflection of the dedication and diligence of the cyclists, coaches and management in ensuring Kaduna remains at the forefront of sporting excellence in Nigeria.
"In efforts to further boost the morale of Team Kaduna at the ongoing games, Governor Sani has also directed the Kaduna State Commissioner of Sports Development, Professor Benjamin Gugong, to immediately visit and interact with the team in Asaba, Delta State.
"This, he stated will ensure that they put in their best to emerge top winners at the end of the National Youth Games," Shehu stated.
