Uba Sani, the Governor of Kaduna State, has promised free education to Kuriga schoolchildren who were recently rescued from kidnappers.
They were rescued and reunited with their parents three days after being released from captivity.
On Wednesday, Professor Abdulkadir Meyere, Secretary to the Kaduna State Government, who was acting on behalf of Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, handed back the children to their parents.
The children's release occurred after a horrific two-week journey in which they were kidnapped by bandits on March 7th and then recovered in Zamfara State by the military and local officials.
During the presentation of the children to their families, Professor Meyere described the state's continuous pursuit of their safe return.
He described Governor Sani's extensive engagement in the rescue attempt, emphasising the governor's dedication to the children's well-being and safety.
Governor Sani declared today (Thursday) that his organisation will provide free education to the liberated youngsters.
According to Vanguard, the governor also vowed to reconstruct Kuriga's elementary and secondary schools, as well as provide other essential community facilities.
