Governor Soludo appoints governing council for Nwafor Orizu

The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, has approved the nominations of the individuals mentioned below to the Governing Council of Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe.

The development was disclosed in a circular made available to newsmen on Thursday, where the names of the appointees were listed.

The names can be seen below:

1) Mrs Nneka ONYALI-IKPE.  (Chairman)

2) Chief Fidelis NWEKE - member 

3) Prof. (Rev Sis) Uju Marie-Esther DIBUA - member 

4) Ven (Dr) Rex C. KANU -    member 

5) Prof. Celestine Uzoma AGUORU - member

On Tuesday the Anambra State governor also approved the appointment of Justina Anyadiegwu as the new provost of Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe.

Christian Aburime, the governor's press secretary, announced the appointment in a statement on Tuesday, saying Soludo wished Anyadiegwu luck in her new role.

According to the announcement, Anyadiegwu's nomination underscores the Soludo administration's commitment to supporting meritocracy and nurturing the ongoing growth of Anambra's educational institutions.

Anyadiegwu, a senior lecturer at Nwafor Orizu College of Education, will succeed Anwuluorah Ogugua Patricia as provost of the 48-year-old college.

“Beyond her academic achievements, Dr Anyadiegwu has also contributed significantly to the educational landscape of Nigeria. Her role as a consultant trainer with the British Council Nigeria underscores her proficiency and recognition in the field of education,” the statement reads.

"Dr. Anyadiegwu holds a Ph.D. in English/Language Arts/Teacher Education from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, further solidifying her credentials as a distinguished scholar and educator.”
