Governor Soludo Responds To Reports Of Gold Discovery In Ana

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has refuted reports of the discovery of a large deposit of gold in a part of the state.

A recent report claims that a gold reserve estimated to be over 20 million tonnes and worth over $900 trillion had been discovered in Ehamufu, Anambra State.

In the story, the Anambra State Governor who was described as chairman of the South East Governor’s Forum reportedly spoke with journalists on the discovery.

Responding to the report, Soludo through a press release signed on his behalf by his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, said the news was fake.

"First, Ehamufu is not in Anambra State. Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo is not the Chairman of the South East Governors’ forum, neither did he brief newsmen of any meeting held by the Forum or phantom discovery of Gold reserves in Ehamufu, Anambra State, as allegedly claimed by the writer(s)", part of the statement reads.

Further describing the content as falsehood, Soludo urged members of the public to disregard the information.
