Governor Abdullahi Sule has gifted two thousand naira (₦2,000) each to intending pilgrims from Nasarawa State yet to be airlifted to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for this year's Hajj exercise.
The Executive Secretary of the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mallam Idris Al-Makura, made this known in a statement issued by the board's media officer, AbdulRazaq Muhammad on Monday.
According to the statement, the gesture was aimed at reducing the hardship being faced by the intending pilgrims at the permanent hajj camp in Abuja.
The board commended Governor Sule for the gesture and appealed to the intending pilgrims for calm and patience as arrangements have been concluded to airlift them.
The first batch of the intending pilgrims was airlifted on Thursday, May 25 and two other flights subsequently.
