Governor Yahaya Attends Farewell Dinner For Outgoing Governo

The Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has attended the farewell dinner in honour of the outgoing governors in the country.

The event was organised by the Nigeria Governors' Forum (NGF).

The farewell dinner took place at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, on Sunday.

In a statement on Monday by Ismaila Uba Misilli, spokesperson to the governor, the event had former, outgoing and current governors taking turns to share experiences on governance and its challenges as well as on life after office.

Misilli added that the governor stressed the importance of the event while speaking to journalists.

He said the event has provided opportunity to learn from each other and exchange ideas on how best to improve on good governance in the country.

Speaking on his achievements in Gombe state, governor Yahaya said he assumed office prepared.

"We thank God we didn't go in blindfolded.

"We went with a clear mission and vision; and Ahamdulillah we've been able to cultivate the grounds on which we are able to impact positively on the lives of our people through the projects and programmes we're executing", he said.

He added that the giant strides recorded in his administration were as a result of his determination, hardwork and passion to deliver to the people of the state.

The governor emphasised the need for leaders to remain focused and not to allow any form of distraction to affect their service delivery.

"It is the leaders that guide and control the movement and we should therefore be on the positive side to direct and help the people in order to move together as one fold and not in disarray", Yahaya added.
