Governor Yahaya Returns To Gombe After Trip To Saudi Arabia

The Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has returned to the state after his strip to Saudi Arabia, where he performed the Lesser Hajj.

The governor also engaged in other activities beneficial to the state while in the holy land. 

Upon arrival on Wednesday at the Gombe Airport, the governor was received by top government officials.

The officials were led by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi. 

In an interview with newsmen, the Governor described his sojourn in the holy land as refreshing and soul lifting.

He added that he was ready for the work ahead to continue the good works he had started in his first administration. 

He further assured that his administration remains focused on creating an enabling environment that encourages socio-economic development for the benefit of the people of Gombe. 

As contained in a statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, spokesperson to the governor, the governor who spoke about the state's All Progressives Congress (APC) internal cleaning, explained: "In view of the dynamism of politics, the exercise was necessary to clear the augean stables and rid the party of bad eggs in the interest of unity and cohesion for the betterment of the party in particular and democracy in general."

He further affirmed that his administration was ready for the May 29 inauguration for his second term, adding that modalities for the smooth transition have been worked out.
