The two major political parties made this known in a separate statement issued on Monday via their verified official Twitter handles while celebrating the duo for their success at the 63rd Grammy Awards.
AllNews had earlier reported that Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy and Nigerian singer, Ibrahim Balogun, also known as Wizkid makes history by winning the 2021 Grammy Awards.
The event, which held last night, saw Wizkid win an awarded for his effort in Brown Skin Girl, a song by Beyonce, Blue Ivy and St John which is from Beyonce’s Lion King: The Gift album.
The song won Best Music Video, beating Future and Drake (Life Is Good), Harry Styles, (Adore You), Anderson Paak (Lockdown), and Woodkid (Goliath).
Burna Boy who lost out to Angelique Kidjo in the last Grammy edition won the Best Global Music Album category with his Twice As Tall album, beating Antibalas (FU Chronicles), Bebel Gilberto (Agora), Anoushka Shankar (Love Letters), and Tinariwen (Amadjar).
Congratulating the Afrobeat stars, PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan said Wizkid and Burna Boy’s victory showed that Nigerians have a resilient spirit.

In a tweet, the PDP spokesman said the duo represent those who would take Nigeria to an envious height.
He wrote: “@OfficialPDPNig congratulates @Wizkidd and @Burnaboy, says their #Grammys awards showcase the resilience of the Nigerian spirit.
“The duo have shown the capacity of the Generation-Next-Nigeria to take our nation to enviable heights. “Congratulations. More wins.”
