Greenfield University Kidnapping: Angry Nigerians Transfer A

Nigerians on Twitter, still dealing with the news of the death of three students of Greenfield University, Kaduna have transferred their anger on Tolu Ogunlesi.

Three students of the institution were confirmed dead on Friday, three days after they were abducted from their school on Tuesday, April 20, 2021.

Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Digital and New Media, Tolu Ogunlesi came under attack after a Twitter user, @ydcoal who identified himself as a brother-in-law to one of the deceased students mentioned him in one of his tweets expressing his grievance against the government.

"Hi @toluogunlesi, my sister-in-law was among the 3 dead students found today from Greenfield University. We are all trying to unpack our feelings. People’s children have become sports for bandits & kidnappers. I know you get a lot of stick on here...

"Where do we go from here Tolu? Do we worry about tomorrow? Do we believe in a fair, just and righteous God? My mother-in-law hasn’t eaten or showered in 3 days since her daughter, whom she saw on Monday, got kidnapped & this death was the answer to her prayers," the tweet said in part.

In response to the above tweet, Ogunlesi tweeted;

"I’m so sorry to hear this Yamai. My deepest condolences."

The above tweeted response, has generated a lot of condemnation from twitter users. Some of them are below

Tolu Ogunlesi, just like other close ties with the Buhari administration has been called out on several occasions over the incessant issue of insecurity in Nigeria.
