Karu Unity Group (KUG) has condemned the recent attack on the people of Takalafia community, Gitata district of the Area, Nasarawa State, which have claimed lives and destroyed properties worth millions of naira.
In a statement issued by its Chairman, Hon. Egbe Wambai Moses on Sunday in Karu, the group described the attack as archaic and barbaric.
Egbe who described human life as sacred charged relevant authorities to live up to their responsibilities of ensuring security of lives and property.
He however commended the Council Chairman, James Thomas and Odyong Nyankpa, HRH Barrister Joel Sabo Aninge among others for the swift response that has restored nolmacy to the community.
Other neighbouring communities namely Gwanja and Angwan Bege were also attacked by the assailants suspected to be fulani herdsmen.
The unfortunate incident which occurred on Thursday night and lasted till the early hours of Friday May 11 also left many injured and displaced.
The deceased victims have since been buried including the pastor in-charge of the community's Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Rev. Daniel Danbeki.
Residents of the affected communities in Karu LGA of Nasarawa State are predominantly Nigerians of Gwandara, Mada and Yeskwe descents.
