...Confirms Ederson, Walker out of Aston Villa game, Stones a doubt

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola on Tuesday inisted that he is in charge of his team after media and supporters'  criticisms of his animated discussions with his players on the pitch during and after matches aimed for the cameras.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach was responding to questons in his pre match media conference ahead of Wednesday's Premier League game against Aston Villa.

Guardiola had at different times been pictured in heated discussions with his players especially Erling Haaland and he was sarcastic in his reaction to what his gestures mean.

"I do it for the cameras, my ego," Guardiola said sarcastically. "I'm the famous person of the team and I need the cameras on me to go to sleep with incredible satisfaction," the Spaniard said which elicited laughter from the journalists at the press conference.

"I always try to criticise the players there [on the pitch] and let them know how bad they are. Especially when Erling (Haaland) scores three goals, the cameras have to be on me."

City dropped more points in the three-way title race against Arsenal and need to bounce back when they face Aston Villa on Wednesday night before travelling to Crystal Palace by the weekend.

Guardiola however reflects a more calm demeanour afterwads as he answers the next line of questions.

He confirms that goalkeeper Ederson and captain Kyle Walker remain sidelined with injuries and hinted that the injury Nathan Ake picked up at the weekend could keep him out for weeks.

England international John Stones was a surprisingly named for a place on the bench on Sunday against Arsenal but remains a doubt for Villa – and  warned that City's experience in title run-ins counts for nothing as they fight for a fourth consecutive crown.

"Experience is over - it doesn't count," Guardiola said.

"It's about Aston Villa. When we were able to win a lot of games in a row before, we weren't thinking about how many we were able to do.

"I would like to tell you but I don't know. All I can do is prepare well against Aston Villa."

Guardiola will be hard pressed for his team to take all points against Unai Emery's team after dropping points against a resolute Arsenal side tat defended brilliantly.

Guardiola admitted that his champions side did not ceate enough chances against the Gunners.

"We didn’t create much, they didn’t create much. They defended very compact, we could not regain the balls high pressing because first contact, second contact they were there. They had a lot of quality and physicality. They had one or two chances in transitions when we lost one or two balls," he noted.
