Gumi Provides ‘Evidence’ Against Non-Muslim Soldiers

Ahmad Gumi has made available audio recordings to back his claims that Christian Soldiers killed Muslims in Nigeria

Gumi leaked the audio of his conversation with an unidentified army personnel to the former presidential aide, Reno Omokri.

The 11-minute audio, interviewed the soldier who claimed to be part of an operation where the superior officer ordered them to wipe entire communities.

The unknown soldier alleged that the communities they were asked to wipe out consist of young and adults, women, and men all of Muslim Faith.

The soldier claimed the attack on the communities mainly dominated by Muslims and Fulanis lasted for about three months.

According to the unknown soldier, the said operation was carried out in 2014 by the then troops of Operation Sharan Daji. Reacting to Gumi’s evidence, Omokri said the cleric would have been arrested if he was a Christian.

Gumi further accused non-Muslim soldiers of launching attacks on villages and communities leading bandits to seek vengeance and striking confusion.

He said: “What I want you people to understand is, soldiers that are involved in most of the criminalities are not Muslims. You know, soldiers have Muslims and none Muslims. The non-Muslims are the ones causing confusion just to ignite crisis.”

The Islamic leader queried the bandits on why they should attack villagers in vengeance.

“If you people, in return, retaliate or seek vengeance, attack residents in the city, you may end up in killing youth, children and old men which eventually results in tension in society.

“Why would military men launch attacks on your community and you take your revenge on innocent citizens in the city?

“That is what is denting your image in the society,” Gumi added.
