Gunmen abduct varsity graduates in Taraba

Armed herdsmen carried out an abduction at the Federal University Wukari in Taraba State on Monday, seizing two students.

Sule Gani, the Chief Security Officer of the university, confirmed the incident in a phone conversation with journalists, stating that a male and female ex-students of the university, who were present to clear their papers, were abducted by armed Fulani herdsmen.

Gani informed journalists that the herdsmen entered the university premises and abducted the two students while they were eating at one of the shops within the university.

"Yes, Fulani herdsmen invaded the university yesterday and abducted two of our students. However, they are ex-students who came to clear their papers.

"They were eating at one of the shops within the university when the armed herdsmen invaded. Both the food sellers and other eyewitnesses of the incident confirmed to us that the attackers were Fulani.

"We have mobilized both the military and police, who are doing their best to ensure the rescue of the students," the University CSO confirmed.
