Gunmen Invade Taraba Church, Abduct Priest

Gunmen have invaded the Saint Ann’s Parish, Sarkin Kudu in the Ibi Local Government Area of Taraba State, abducting a Catholic Priest.

The priest was identified as Reverend Father Thaddeus Terhembe of Wukari Catholic Diocese in the state.

According to reports, the abduction took place in the early hours of Sunday. 

The Communication Officer of the Catholic Diocese of Wukari, Reverend Father John Jerome, confirmed the incident.

Jerome urged residents to pray for the safety and swift return of the abducted catholic priest.

The Taraba State Police Command through its spokesperson, Abdullahi Usman, confirmed the incident.

In related incident, unidentified persons have invaded a house in Gulum area of Jalingo, the state's capital, abducting two persons.

The police said the victims were whisked away by their kidnappers alongside their personal belongings.
