Gunmen Kidnap Female Nurse In Enugu

Gunmen have kidnapped a female nurse working at Agbani General Hospital in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The nurse who was simply identified as Ebele is said to also own a patent medicine store around Agbani Court area from where she was abducted by the gunmen.

A source said the gunmen were yet to contact the women's relatives.

The security situation in Agbani and environs has continued to deteriorate, causing apprehension among residents.

Lecturers, members of the administrative staff of Enugu State University (ESUT), and students alike now spend few hours on campus to avoid being attacked.

It was learned that about a fortnight ago, a popular businessman who imports mini buses in the area was kidnapped by gunmen dressed in army carmourflage.

He was picked up from his house and was later released after he paid the sum of N15 million as ransom.

Efforts to confirm the latest incident failed as the Police Spokesman in Enugu, Daniel Ndukwe did not take calls nor respond to a text message to his mobile phone.
