Gunmen Kidnap Former Plateau Governorship Aspirant

Gunmen has kidnapped Nkemi Nicholas Nshe, a former governorship aspirant in the 2019 Plateau State elections.

It was gathered that the ex-governorship aspirant was kidnapped at his residence in the early hours of Saturday, the first day of the year.

According to PUNCH, an associate of Nshe claimed the kidnappers had called the family members and demanded a sum of N100 million naira for ransom which was later reduced to N50 million.

His abduction came barely 24 hours after some kidnappers had released a traditional ruler in a neighbouring area.

The traditional ruler, Charles Mato Dakat was kidnapped by gunmen at his palace in Gindiri community, Mangu LGA and demanded the ransom of 500 million naira.

The troops of the Military Taskforce in the state later claimed it arrested eight suspects and did not disclose if the ransom was paid or not.
