The President-General of Umuoji Community in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Silas Onyima was reportedly killed by yet-to-be-identified gunmen.

Reports indicate that a group of approximately 15 gunmen stormed Onyima's residence on Friday evening, unleashing a hail of bullets that claimed his life.

The vicious attack has sent shockwaves through the community, leaving residents in a state of panic and disbelief.

Onyima, who had just been chosen as the community's president-general, was the target of masked attackers who carried out the lethal attack with accuracy, according to a source close to the incident.

DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, a spokesman for the state police, has confirmed the unfortunate event and said that police officers have been sent to the scene. 

The deceased's body has been found and brought to the mortuary, and efforts are being made to identify and catch the criminals.

Authorities and community members alike are pleading with anyone with knowledge to come forward and help bring the criminals to justice as the town reels from this horrific act of violence.
