Gunmen Kill First Class Monarch In Ondo State

Suspected gunmen have killed an Ondo state first-class monarch identified as Oba Israel Adeusi.

Information received states that the Olufon of Ifon, Oba Israel Adeusi, was shot dead on Thursday evening along Benin-Owo-Akure highway at Elegbeka of Ose Local Government.

The monarch was said to be returning to Ifon from Akure, the state capital, where he had gone to attend a meeting before running into the gunmen who had laid ambush on the highway.

It was gathered that the bandits opened fire on the vehicle conveying the monarch, on sighting the vehicle.

The monarch was said to have been rushed to Federal Medical Centre, Owo where he gave up the ghost.

A relation however stated that it was a clear assassination of the traditional ruler said the monarch was in his official car which had his customized number plate.

“It was clearly an assassination because nothing was stolen from the vehicle and the other two occupants of the vehicle were not harmed,” the relative said.
