Chief Tunde Ilori, the Elewere of of Owo Kingdom, has been shot and killed by gunmen.
Ilori was reportedly killed on Wednesday while returning from the location he and other chiefs had gone to settle a dispute.
Also shot by the gunmen, was a yet to be identified chief who is currently receiving medical attention at an unnamed health facility in the town.
Meanwhile, aggrieved youths in Owo town on Wednesday evening protested the shooting by blocking the road, burning tyres at the First Bank area in Owo town.
The spokesperson of Ondo State Police Command, Funmilayo Odunlami has confirmed the incident on Thursday adding the police are currently investigating the incident with the purpose of apprehending and prosecuting the assailants.
