Gunmen Kill Police Officer In Delta

Gunmen have reportedly shot dead a police officer in Ime-Obi, Agbor in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The police officer, identified as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) David Igbinovia, was washing his Toyota Camry car at his residence when the gunmen attacked him, killing him on the spot.

A source said that members of the Anti-cult Volunteer Corps, Agbor Division, who acted swiftly pursued the fleeing gunmen and arrested four suspects of them.

A source claimed the gunmen fled the scene without taking any valuables.

The late Igbinovia who served in Edo State Police Command hailed from Okada, a community in Ovia North-East Local Government Area of Edo State.

He had returned from Okada the previous day after attending the burial of his late brother.

Public Relations Officer of Delta State Police Command, Bright Edafe who confirmed the incident, said four suspects have been arrested.
