Gunmen Kill Suya Seller In Imo

A suya seller was on Saturday afternoon shot dead by gunmen at Ogbaku motor-park in the Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State.

An eyewitness from the community said that the incident occurred on Saturday around 12 pm at Ogbaku park.

“The gunmen first shot at their first target, a suya seller, who died instantly, while they gave the second target, a wrapper seller a hot chase before he was shot at his shoulder.”

He further said the suya seller believed to be an Hausa man, was shot at close range and killed, while his friend was chased and shot.

“Some armed men numbering about 10 stormed the park with motorcycles, created tension and fear in the motor park.

"While everyone took to their heels, they shot a suya seller and also shot a wrapper seller who is believed to be a northerne on his shoulder.

“As I speak now, the corpse of the suya seller is still lying at Ogbaku motor park and the wrapper seller is still alive.

"The men of the Ogbaku Police Division are already present expecting signal from police headquarters in Owerri before conveying the corpses.”

The spokesperson for the police in the state, Micheal Abattam was yet to react to the incident as of the time of this report.
