Gunmen Kill Zamfara Governorship Aspirant

Gunmen have reportedly killed a former Zamfara State guber aspirant, Alhaji Sagir Hamidu, in a kidnapping attack on the Kaduna-Abuja highway. The incident happened at about 2 pm on Sunday and many others were kidnapped by the gunmen.

It was reported that the gunmen blocked the Abuja-Kaduna highway for about an hour, killing the ex-governorship aspirant, and went away kidnapping many travelers.

An eyewitness claimed the gunmen opened fire on the travelers, firing at the ones who attempted to run away. Unfortunately, Alhaji Sagir Hamidu was among the ones killed on the spot.

Alhaji Sagir Hamidu also served as a one-time director of protocol at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
