Per a Daily Trust report, the incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, and those massacred included Tsekaa Chiatyo, Kwaghdoo Tsekaa, Sewiesi Tsekaa Bobo Chiatyo, Aondosee Fidelis Aboy, Igha Aduku, and Iwuesi Aseer.
The gunmen reportedly stormed the community at exactly 2 am and shot sporadically into the air while chanting war songs.
The President of the Tiv Development Association (TIDA), Comrade Peter Ahemba, confirmed the incident, describing it as unfortunate.

He said, "Each time herdsmen have issues relating to implementation of the anti-open grazing law by the Benue State government, they come and attack our people in Nasarawa State.

"We are indigenous people of Nasarawa State. We are peace-loving people and the herdsmen must stop attacking our people for things they know nothing about.
He also revealed that the ugly development led to the displacement of thousands of Tiv farmers in the region.
The Police Public Relation Officer, ASP Rahman Nansel, was contacted and he said the command was yet to get the report of the incident.
"The command is yet to get the report but as soon as I get the details from our personnel in Doma, I will get back to you", he stated.
