Gunshots were heard in several barracks in Burkina Faso on Sunday, including the capital city of Ouagadougou.
According to AFP, a soldier in the district on Ouagadougou’s western outskirts said; “Since 1:00 am, gunfire can be heard here in Gounghin coming from the Single Lamizana camp."
Shots were also heard at another military camp in Baby Sy, located in the south of the capital, and also at an airbase near the airport.
It was gathered that gunshots were heard in barracks in the northern towns of Kaya and Ouahigouya.
This incident is coming a day after the country's police arrested dozens in protest against the government.
According to reports, two soldiers were killed in the north during the protest.
