Haaland Fit For Southampton Clash

Erling Haaland will be available for Manchester City's Premier League clash with Southampton on Saturday, Pep Guardiola confirms.

The Norwegian striker missed City's 4-1 league thrashing of Liverpool last weekend as a result of a groin injury, though he resumed training this week.

Guardiola said on Friday that the striker, who has scored 42 goals in 37 matches in all competitions, had recovered from the injury. 

“He trained the last two days, really good; he will be ready,” the Spaniard told journalists.

Haaland's return gives City a boost as they approach the defining period of their season with three trophies still up for grabs.

“The last part of the season, international break, depends on us how many games we’re going to play, Premier League for sure, Champions League, FA Cup.

“If we win, we’re still in, if we don’t we’re out... 

"If we drop points Arsenal will be champions in advance, if we win, win, win, we might be champions at the end of the season. 

"We are used to it, it’s not a problem,” added Guardiola while previewing Saturday's game against bottom-of-the-table Saints at St Mary's.
