Haaland's Brace Hand Man City Away Win At Young Boys

Erling Haaland struck twice as Manchester City sealed a hard-fought 3-1 win over Young Boys in Wednesday night's Champions League clash.

City had dominated proceedings in the early exchanges and took the lead in the 48th minute when Manuel Akanji tapped in after Ruben Dias' header had been turned onto the bar.

But just four minutes later, the Swiss hosts pulled level through Meschak Elia, whose exquisite chip over the head of the on-rushing Ederson found the back of the net.

The goal rattled City for some minutes and on 67 minutes they went ahead again when Haaland dispatched a penalty after Mohamed Ali Camara fouled Rodri in the area.

Haaland then doubled his tally on the night when he curled a right-footed effort into the roof of the net in the closing stages.

Victory means City are now on the cusp of the last 16 having recorded three wins from three games in Group G.

They will now turn their attention to Sunday's Manchester derby and hope to build on their performance that extended their unbeaten run in European competition to 17 matches.
