Intending Pilgrims for the 2023 Hajj operations from Jigawa will start departing for Saudi Arabia on May 27.
The Executive Secretary of the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Umar Labbo, disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Dutse on Sunday.
He said the first airlift is expected to begin with 395 prospective pilgrims from Dutse International Airport by Azman Air.
The Executive Secretary explained that the board had processed visas for over 1,500 pilgrims and distributed uniforms and other kits to the pilgrims for this year’s Hajj exercise.
He added that the board had paid about N4 billion to NAHCON, which represents 100 per cent of the state’s 2023 Hajj fares.
“We have completed all arrangements with stakeholders, including security agencies, for a successful and hitch-free exercise," he added.
