L-R-Fatima-Hashim, Isyaku and, Abdulmalik Tanko
Kano State Police has today, Monday arraigned Abdulmalik Tanko who confessed to killing Hanifa Abubakar, his pupil, in Kano.
The police arraigned Abdulmalik Tanko Hashim Issyaku and Fatima before Chief Magistrate Muhammad Jabir, at Gidan Murtala, Kano metropolis, on charges of criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, concealing/keeping in confinement a kidnapped person, and culpable homicide.
Hanifa Abubakar was abducted on December 4, 2021, on her way back from Islamiyya by her teacher, who later killed her after demanding N6 million ransom.
The police, last week, arrested the killer and accomplices, and he subsequently confessed to killing her with N100 rat poison.
The accused persons were not represented, while Barrister Lamido Soron Dinki was the prosecuting counsel.
After the charges were read to the accused, they were remanded in prison custody after the matter was adjourned until February 2, 2022.
