Hardship: Governor Sani acknowledges receipt of Tinubu's pal

Kaduna Governor, Uba Sani acknowledged the receipt of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's palliative to the state through the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, on Friday.

The palliatives delivered by the Director General of NEMA, Zubaida Umar followed the directive by President Tinubu to release grains from the National Strategic Reserve amid the current economic hardship.

The governor noted that the state received grains, including maize, millet, sorghum and garri, adding that his administration remained committed to bringing succour to the poor and vulnerable persons in the state.

He said: "Today, I formally received from the Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Hajia Zubaida Umar the grains from the National Strategic Reserve for distribution to vulnerable citizens of Kaduna State.

"The directive by our dear President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR for the release of grains from the National Strategic Reserve underscores the firm commitment of his administration to the welfare of Nigerians.

"He is conscious of the challenges facing Nigerians and is taking all measures necessary to lessen their pains. The sacrifices Nigerians are making today will be rewarded with a better future. President Tinubu's economic reforms are gradually bearing fruits.

"Our administration is committed to bringing succour to the poor, vulnerable and underserved in Kaduna State.

"Our Committee on Distribution of Palliatives has been doing a commendable job distributing Kaduna State Government palliatives and those of the Federal Government."

The governor further assured that the state palliative committee will ensure the palliatives are shared to the citizens of the state fairly and equitably.

He said: "I assure our dear citizens that the broad-based Committee will ensure that these grains from the National Strategic Reserve will be distributed to vulnerable citizens of Kaduna State in a fair and equitable manner.

"Security agencies will also ensure that distribution trucks are not hijacked by hoodlums or diverted by officials saddled with responsibility for distribution. Nobody, I repeat, nobody will be spared if a report of any untoward incident comes to my attention."

He further appreciated the state key stakeholders who collaborated to receive the grains allocated to Kaduna, including the NEMA, Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency, KADSEMA, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Independent Corrupt Practices and Related Offences Commission, ICPC, the Department of State Services, DSS, Nigeria Police Force, NPF, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC.

He further assured of working with the stakeholders to ensure "effective distribution of the grains from National Strategic Reserve to vulnerable citizens of Kaduna State."
