Havertz, Trossard speak on Arsenal's performance after win over Man United

Havertz, Trossard speak on Arsenal's performance after win o

Arsenal duo of Kai Havertz and Leandro Trossard have admitted the team were not at their swashbuckling best in the narrow 1-0 win against Manchester United which temporarily took them back to the league summit.

Havertz has been in great form for the Gunners since he arrived from Chelsea and would have been eager to score for the team in the game.

United were without several key players but still gave Arsenal a run for their money. Havertz spoke to Premier League Productions after the game on his thoughts.

“Very important. I think to play here is always tough. We prepared the game very well, I think we didn’t have our best game but in the end we needed that three points and we have it now. We can be very happy with that.”

Goal scorer Leandro Trossard who benefitted from Havert's assist also spoke on the game in an interview with Sky Sports.

The Belgian was responding to the opinion of former United midfielder Roy Keane who said the Gunners were lucky to grind out a 1-0 win.

"I think Arsenal will be thinking how lucky they were to play such a poor Manchester United team today. The end product, the lack of quality, the decision making, people making mistakes and not putting demands on each other," Keane told Sky Sports.

In his response to what Keane said, Trossard fired back: "Maybe it wasn't the prettiest game but credit to the guys, we defended so well. We kept another clean sheet and one goal is enough to win the game. We were struggling a little bit so it was so nice to get the win," he told BBC Sport.

"When you're only 1-0 up it is always a bit tricky. We were trying to score a second but they are dangerous on the counterattack. It is a great run for us and now we take it to the final game. You never know what is going to happen."
