Trouble As FG File Fresh Charges Against IPOB Leader Nnamdi Kanu
Heavy security surrounds the premises of the Federal High Court in Abuja as the court resumes hearing on the suit filed against Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) and others were sighted in the venue barricading the roads to tighten security around the court premises.
Nnamdi Kanu today, Friday, April 8, resumes the 15-count charge bordering on terrorism and felony before Justice Binta Nyako.
The charges were leveled against him by the Buhari-led federal government.
According to reports, the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Tosho, ordered a secret trial of all terrorism cases. To this end, Nnamdi Kanu’s trial may be shifted to the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).
However, Justice Nyako is expected to rule on the IPOB leader's fundamental human rights suit against the federal government.
