Hoodlums, Police Clash Leaves Three Dead In Ibadan

As a result of a clash between hoodlums suspected to be internet fraudsters and police personnel, three persons have been confirmed dead.

The clash AllNews Nigeria gathered occurred on Tuesday in Moniya, Akinyele local government, Ibadan.

An eyewitness who pleaded anonymity confirmed that a Micra driver had issues with police officers on duty which resulted in the death of a police officer.

It was gathered that the crisis layer degenerated into a shooting spree which led to the death of the three people, who are yet to be identified.

“They are still fighting close to the police station. It was micra drivers that had issues with the police, and then one of the micra drivers killed a policeman.

“The police shot back and it resulted in mayhem between them like three people are now dead,” the witness revealed.

Meanwhile, an attempt to reach the Divisional Command Officer (DCO) of the Moniya Police Station has proven abortive.

A police officer at the station however confirmed that the clash is true.

She disclosed that she had to run away to safety.

Locals who confirmed the incident added that people have been advised to avoid the Moniya axis due to the ongoing unrest in the area.
