Hostages Released As Kidnapper Dies In Dallas

Hostages have been released safely from a synagogue in Dallas, following an over 10-hour standoff where the abductor was reported dead.

NBC NEWS claimed a group of four people were taken hostage on Saturday in northwest of Dallas.

The hostages were being held by a man who was demanding the release of a federal prisoner being held in a North Texas prison since 2010, over attempted murder.

Colleyville Police Chief, Michael C. Miller said;

"One of the hostages was released by 5 p.m and after the FBI negotiators continued to communicate with the man, around 9 pm, the FBI's hostage rescue team breached the synagogue and rescued the hostages."

"The suspect was pronounced dead. Officials did not release how the man died. The hostages were not physically harmed and did not require medical attention."

Later on Saturday night, President Joe Biden thanked those who worked to bring the four hostages home to their families.

The President's statement read; "There is more we will learn in the days ahead about the motivations of the hostage-taker."

"But let me be clear to anyone who intends to spread hate, we will stand against the rise of extremism in this country. That is who we are, and tonight, the men and women of law enforcement made us all proud."
