House Of Representatives Aspirant Gives Reasons For Dumping

A House of Representatives aspirant in the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Ede South, Ede North, Egbedore and Ejigbo Federal Constituency of Osun State, Muslihudeen Adekilekun has given reasons why he dumped the party on Saturday.

Adekilekun also subsequently announced the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) as his new political platform.

Adekilekun who revealed that the imposition of candidates informed his decision to dump the APC added that he had been contributing to the growth of the ruling party in Osun since 2011.

He lamented that despite his contributions to the party, the leaders often imposed candidates during party primaries, thereby sacrificing loyalty and dedication.

“The APC, particularly in Edeland, operates like a cult. It has become a party that encourages bribery over loyalty, prefers godfatherism to popularity/acceptability, honours and lords newcomers over faithful members, and goes for manipulation instead of integrity.

“The party, over the years, has always welcomed and positioned people of questionable character, whose traits are contrary to her principles of equity and fairness.

“Since it is now as clear as daylight that the leadership of the party in Edeland is hell-bent on denying me the opportunity to offer a quality representation to my esteemed constituency, I was left with no option but to seek an alternative political party where I will have the opportunity to prove my mettle against their anointed candidate in the general election.

"And my new party is the New Nigeria Peoples Party,” Adekilekun said.
