How Gunmen Abducted, Killed Village Head, Teenager In Adamaw

Gunmen have killed a village head and a 16-year-old boy in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The village head, Ahmadu Sikari was killed in an attempt to kidnap him from his residence about two weeks ago.

He was shot twice when it became difficult for the abductors to abduct him.

In another incident, about a week ago, a 16-year-old Ijarshu Markus was abducted alongside his brother and mother at Maiwandu Village.

However, vigilantes rescued the late Ijarshu's brother and mother while the abductors left with him.

Three days later, he was found dead with multiple stab wounds in the bush according to reports.

The District Head of Duhu, Mustapha Sanusi expressed sadness over the incident which has caused panic in the community, urging more to be done by the government on security.

Sanusi said looking at the development achieved in the fight against Boko Haram, the insurgents have now resulted in kidnapping to finance their evil.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in Adamawa, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje said the police have already been dispatched to track the abductors.

Madagali Local Government Area (LGA) has been experiencing relative peace ever since Boko Haram was defeated by the Nigerian troops.

The LGA was under the control of Boko Haram from 2014 to 2015.
