Popular talk show host and Nollywood star Nancy Isime has disclosed that she became a people pleaser as a result of childhood trauma.
Speaking in a recent interview with fellow actress Lilian Afegbai, the Blood Sisters star revealed that she did not get the needed attention as a child and that led to her wanting people to like her as an adult.
The 30-year-old celebrity further stated that she reached a point in life where she no longer bothered to force herself on anyone.
"I don’t force myself on anybody. I used to be a people pleaser but that came from childhood trauma. It came from a childhood trauma where you’ll be looking for attention as a child and you didn’t get it.
"When you get older, you start waning people to like you. So even if it’s breaking you, even if you know that this person does not like you and has said sh*t about you, you think maybe they can change that mind", she shared.
Isime disclosed that self-love helped her stop trying to please people.
"But learning to love myself and being intuitive helped me to heal from being a people pleaser", she added.
