How My Sister Lost Her Job Because Of My Lifestyle — Denrele Edun

How My Sister Lost Her Job Because Of My Lifestyle — Denre

It appears many people are averse to Denrele Edun's lifestyle as the media personality recently revealed that his sister lost her job because of him.

Talking about what happened in a recent episode of #WithChude, Denrele said his sister worked in a primary school and that her employer gave her the boot when he found out that she is related to him.

"My sister recently lost her job just because her employer found out she is related to me", he stated. "This happened in a primary school. The headteacher randomly called her to let her go with the reason that if parents find out Denrele is your brother, they will withdraw their wards from the school, and it is something I cannot risk.

"When she called to tell me, I was saddened. Her knowledge, skills, and competencies were not in question, just the simple reason of being related to me.

"I felt so bad that my name would ruin things for her, and so sometimes she even denies knowing me.”

On constantly getting lots of backlash on social media from trolls, Denrele says he deals with it by understanding that social media does not validate his existence and that one has to remain true to themselves against all odds. To him, that is the key to remaining happy.

Born in Hamburg, Germany to a Yoruba father and an Indian mother, Denrele Edun is the only son of his parents. He has two sisters. He spent the early part of his childhood in Germany before coming to Nigeria at age five.
