Since the controversial decision by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) that sim cards without National Identity Number (NIN) be deregistered after two weeks by network providers, telecoms companies have been rolling out method to link their NIN to sim.
For individuals using MTN sim and still struggling to link their NIN to their sim cards, you can now link it without leaving the comfort of your home, according to MTN. There had been criticism over the mandatory visit to telecoms stores.
This criticism led to MTN creating a USSD code and portal that made it easier for its subscribers to link their NIN to their sim cards, "Y’ello you can now link your National Identification Number (NIN) to your mobile number on the MTN network." MTN said in a statement.
