How To Register For First ASRIC Conference On Engineering  O

The African Union Scientific, Technical Research Commission (AUSTRC) has said that its special advisory body African Scientific Research and Innovation Council (ASRIC) will hold an engineering conference in September.

This is contained in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) and signed by the Executive Director of AUSTRC, Dr. Ahmed Hamdy, on Thursday.

According to the statement, a total of 150 African engineers are expected at the conference which comes up virtually from Sept. 6, until Sept. 8, in Cairo, Egypt.

“The participants include research institutions/universities, engineering consulting firms, engineering and construction firms, real estate developers, technological and innovation engineering registry bodies and African and international engineering organisations,"

ASRIC is a special advisory body to AUSTRC mandated to implement the science, technology, and innovation strategy for Africa (STISA-2024).

Its mandate is also to promote scientific research and innovation in order to address the challenges of Africa’s socio-economic development.

Hamdy stated that the conference titled: “Engineering and informatics for Africa urbanisation’’ is an opportunity to strengthen intra-Africa research and cooperation.

He said that the conference would also mobilise African research excellence, provide a platform for dialogue among African scientists and serve as a voice of the scientific community.

“The conference will provide a platform for practical challenges encountered in urbanisation and adaptable solution and maximising the efficiency and effectiveness of urbanisation for the wellbeing of its inhabitants.

“Topics centered on Eco-engineering for megacities and urbanisation, informatics and big data for urbanisation and megacity management, urban and megacities planning development and management will be discussed at the meeting,’’ he said.

The Executive Director urged participants to register to attend the conference at the AUSTRC website.

The conference is organised in partnerships with Obour High Institutions (OHI) and the Ministry of higher education and scientific research, Cairo, Egypt.
