I Did Not Apologize To Ganduje — Sheikh Inyas

The Grand Khalifa of Tijjaniyya, Sheik Muhammad Mahi Ibrahim Nyass, denied sponsoring any advertorial regretting his inability to honour Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje’s invitation to attend Zikir Festival organised by the state government.

There has been a paid advertorial published on page 33 of Daily Trust of Tuesday – February 1, 2021, where the Sheikh was said to have apologized to Ganduje over his absence during the religious event.

But in a statement on Wednesday by the spokesman for the Tijjaniyya leader, Sheikh Tijjani Sheikh Sani Auwal said the advertorial was not from the Grand Khalifa and neither did he authorize anyone to do so on his behalf.

“The published letter was on a forged letterhead with no date and no reference number. Also, the signature of the Sheikh was forged, that’s not how he appends his signature.

The statement said, “The Sheikh wishes to call on all Tijjaniya followers to remain peaceful and united. He said they are expected to always adhere strictly to the teachings of the Prophet and also emulate what Sheikh Ahmadu Tijjani and Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass have preached during their lifetime.”

The Sheikh also advised Tijjaniya followers to be united in Nigeria and around the world and not allow the devil to come in between them.
