Oluwo and Oyetola
The Oluwo of Iwo land, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has expressed optimism on the strength of Iwoland being greater than Lagos.
Oba Akanbi who said his efforts is tailored towards building a distinctively vibrant economic metropolis, urged stakeholders to complement his endeavours at restoring the glory to Iwo.
Oluwo made the disclosure on Saturday during events to commemorate the annual 2021 Iwo Day celebration in Iwo.
Going down memory lane, the monarch disclosed that Iwo had been the fifth largest city in Nigeria in 1931 after Lagos, Ibadan, Kano and Ogbomosho.
He assured citizens of his commitment to meet up again and be better through a vigorous and rigorous exercise of traditional influence.
Oba Akanbi also called on well meaning sons and daughters of Iwoland to be more dedicated to Iwo through harmonisation of interest at securing a better future for the land.
